Bio & Expertise
I am an independent freelancer and web developer from Batumi, Georgia.
I have been working in IT for almost 20 years now. It all started back in 2001 with my studies at the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics at Lomonosov Moscow State University, which I successfully graduated from with the proud qualification of “mathematician, systems programmer.”
During my studies, I briefly became interested in writing: as an editor and freelance correspondent, I published about a dozen computer-related articles for magazines (CHIP, ENTER) by Vogel Burda Communications. However, even back then, a genuine interest in web development began to take shape. My professional path started with remote work (at Nsign) and later a full-time position (at Datainlife) as a web developer.
Dusk fell. Suddenly, I left my comfort zone and joined the CBOSS group of companies as a QA engineer. For two years, the focus of my work was RTB billing systems, where I successfully contributed to projects for corporate clients such as Wataniya Mobile, MVNECo, “NSS”, Orange Armenia, and others. Those were wonderful times.
At the same time, I never stopped my web explorations. In parallel, I collaborated with the marketing agency Action, searched for new growth opportunities - and this paid off. First part-time, and then fully, I immersed myself in my first startup, Thankyou.ru. The project was successfully built and launched (“Habr effects,” reaching break-even, and stock options - it was all there), then developed further (as a developer and later CTO, jack-of-all-trades, as startups usually require) and supported for a couple of years, after which I left the project. It was here that I was introduced to MODX.
How did I end up here?
And why MODX? Because it is reliable, secure, highly flexible, and significantly easier to use than many other well-known CMS platforms. For me, it is the best content management system, and I highly recommend it.
For over 10 years, I have been using MODX in my work to build projects of varying complexity. I have delivered more than fifty projects from scratch, participated in the development and maintenance of over one hundred, and currently provide ongoing support for more than thirty. I develop my own components for MODX Revolution and enjoy working with a wide range of integrations.
I also provide consulting on the MODX forum, modx.pro, Habr Q&A, and Stack Overflow; I work on MODX documentation translations and am a member of the MODX contributors group.
More about startups
Another project worth mentioning is Printlot, where I was involved as a developer and later a junior partner. Although life showed that the idea of a print-industry aggregator did not take off, unfortunately, it was an excellent experience - both in development (also on MODX) and learning (FRII, 14th remote pre-accelerator), communication with interesting people, hypothesis testing, sprints, identifying “pain points,” and launching successive iterations “from duct tape and sticks.”
Additionally
All of this has always gone hand in hand with my work, so I decided to study digital marketing seriously - with the team at Completo, following the Dutch NIMA program. Exams are coming up soon.
I also studied systematic promotion skills with Dmitry Shakhov from Remarka. For quite some time now, I have been practicing and offering technical SEO services - performance optimization (both browser-side and server-side), fixing indexing issues, and adapting websites to search engine requirements.
My project work
I usually work with only a few clients at a time - no more than three or four. This allows me to maintain a clear focus and achieve strong results while staying fully engaged and in close communication with each client. Please feel free to review client feedback here on YouDo, Trustpilot, or on my Upwork profile.
I'm a registered sole proprietor and prefer legally sound, properly formalized business relationships.
